First prize in
drawing and sculpture at the Barrington Art Fair in 1968 and a first prize in Graphics. Exhibited in a juried show at the Countryside Art Gallery, in
Arlington Heights, Illinois in 1968. Mixed media drawing purchased for the Kemper Insurance Corporate Art collection in 1972. Exhibited with a one man show at the Arlington Heights Library during their grand reopening in January 1996 and a second one man show at the Arlington Library in 1999. Two paintings are in the permanent collection of the Arlington Library. In 2005 and 2006, I did a commision for the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Palatine, Illinois of six acrylic paintings measuring 72x48 inches that now hang on the sanctuary walls.
I also did a painting for their reception area. In 2003 I did a painting called "Palatine Illinois Our Hometown" that now hangs in the Mayor of Palatine's office reception area as a digital print. The original raised money for the fireman's memorial. The original painting was purchased by a private family in Palatine. I have also completed various commissions over the years. In 2012 I had a one man exhibit of nine paintings at the Palatine Public Library. I have also exhibited with the Barrington Cultural Arts Council in various galleries. I have exhibited with a one man show at the Schaumburg and Barrington Libraries in 2015. I have created a painting that now hangs in the First Methodist Church in Palatine for 2016.
Motivation
The interests that motivate my paintings derive from the creation. I have had a closeness to nature from childhood. I am an environmentalist at heart and this has led to many landscapes created from resource photos and made into my own composistions for painting. As an avid photographer and artist I have been inspired by the photos I have taken
over the years in our many travels thoughout North America. Many of my works reflect my love of the natural world and God's creation.
